Elements of Competency Performance Criteria              
Element: Support safe work practices in work area
  • Check implementation of safe work procedures in own work area
  • Share information on safe work practices and safety issues in the workplace with members of the work group
  • Check the health and safety practices of less experienced members of the work group, and provide support as required to ensure safe work practices are followed
  • Support members of the work group to accurately record incidents and complete associated workplace documentation according to workplace procedures

  • Raise health and safety issues according to workplace procedures
  • Contribute to workplace meetings, workplace inspections or other consultative activities in a constructive manner to improve safety
  • Identify roles and responsibilities of health and safety representatives and committees

  • Report identified hazards and inadequacies in risk controls

Assessment Tasks

Copy and paste from the following data to produce each assessment task. Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.
Copy and paste from the following performance criteria to create an observation checklist for each task. When you have finished writing your assessment tool every one of these must have been addressed, preferably several times in a variety of contexts.
